Pasta & Basta is one of those hidden gems that you would probably never discover unless someone pointed you in the right direction… and even then, you might walk right past it. The restaurant is tucked away inside the Wines & More outlet in the same building as Brioche, making it quite difficult to find on your first visit. It’s literally a hole in the wall… but don’t let that fool you. Once you step inside, you’re rewarded with some truly outstanding food. The dishes were beautifully presented and looked every bit as good as they tasted. Everything we ordered was absolutely delectable… fresh ingredients, excellent flavors, and careful attention to detail. It’s clear that a lot of pride goes into the food here. In a city with an increasingly competitive dining scene, Pasta & Basta easily stands out. Service was equally impressive. The staff were attentive, professional, and genuinely welcoming throughout the meal - we were attended to by an alert young man named Juju. It’s always refreshing to dine somewhere where the team seems invested in ensuring guests have a great experience rather than simply taking orders and moving on. A special mention goes to the owner, Frederico, who was present, caring, and attentive. He took the time to engage with guests and clearly has a passion for both the restaurant and the customer experience. During our visit, he mentioned that Pasta & Basta will be relocating to Kimihurura in the near future. Given the quality of the food, I suspect the new location will help them attract the visibility they deserve... Another practical advantage is the parking… there is plenty of it, and it’s completely free, which is always appreciated in Kigali. If you’re looking for authentic, high-quality food served by people who genuinely care about what they’re doing, Pasta & Basta is well worth seeking out. It may currently be hidden away, but it’s exactly the kind of place that deserves to be discovered. Highly recommended… and I’ll definitely be visiting again, whether at the current location or after the move to Kimihurura.

​⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A true hidden gem in Kigali! I had the best homemade pasta (tortelini and ravioli) ever here! The food was incredible—specifically the beef, which was so tender and tasty and the chicken rolls with porcini were absolutely delicious!!A huge thank you to Evald, who was polite, professional and provided 5-star service to match the food. If you are visiting Kigali, this spot is a must-try!

🍝🥂 More than just Pasta... an Experience to Remember! We had another exceptional 🎉 experience at Pasta&Basta yesterday evening! The food is always consistently delicious, with a wide variety of pasta dishes that showcase the rich flavors of Italy. What sets Pasta&Basta apart is the attention to detail and the passion for sharing the love of pasta. They even have a small plate displaying the different types of pasta on offer, which is a great touch.🎉 This time, we gave our son a cooking class with Federico, the owner and head chef, as a birthday 🎁 present. He and his friend had an amazing time learning the art of pasta-making and presentation, while we enjoyed a relaxing evening with wine🍾. Federico and his team went above and beyond to make this experience special for our boys.👨‍🍳👩‍🍳🧑‍🍳 Pasta&Basta is currently and, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants in Kigali, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for an authentic Italian experience. The staff are warm and welcoming, and the atmosphere is cozy and intimate. A huge thank you to Federico and his team for creating such a memorable experience for our family. We can't wait to come back! 🥰
